Mangione’s gratitude list, released following his birthday on May 6, includes a mix of light-hearted, irreverent remarks alongside more serious acknowledgments. Among his listed gratitude points are “Chicken Thursdays” and “Sweet Baby Ray’s BBQ sauce,” as well as thanks for “Latinas for Mangione,” a group of fans dedicated to supporting him.

The list also highlights his legal battle, with Mangione thanking the 30,000 supporters who have raised over $1 million for his defence fund. He also mentions his lawyer, Karen Friedman Agnifilo, and his cellmate, “J,” who shares his wisdom and tolerance for Mangione’s cluttered papers.

Mangione also expressed gratitude for the donations to his commissary fund, which have helped him purchase a tablet, songs, hygiene items and "lots of tuna packets" among other things.

Despite the gravity of his murder charge, Mangione’s letter provides glimpses into his unique mindset, filled with references to pop culture, philosophy, and memes.

Mangione, who has pled not guilty, is set to face trial in 2026.
