Taylor Swift has been granted a restraining order against Brian Jason Wagner, a stalker who allegedly believes that the pop star is the mother of his child. The restraining order, filed on Friday and granted on Monday, cites concerns for Swift’s safety and a “fear of imminent harm.”
Wagner, who is said to have visited Swift’s Los Angeles home multiple times, reportedly sent threatening emails to her staff. In the legal filing obtained by Page Six, Swift claimed Wagner fabricated stories about living with her, being in a relationship with her, and needing to see her in person. These claims, according to the singer, were “untrue and disconnected from reality.”
Wagner’s behaviour reportedly began in 2024 when he first visited Swift’s property. He allegedly returned several times that year, and on one occasion, he was carrying a glass bottle, which could have been used as a weapon. The situation escalated further in May 2025 when Wagner claimed to be “checking on a friend” at Swift’s home—a story Swift described as entirely false.
The restraining order also revealed Wagner’s history, including a prison sentence and obsessive behaviour. He had written numerous letters from prison, filled with fabricated tales of a romantic relationship with Swift. In addition, Wagner allegedly managed to place Swift’s address on his driver’s licence and tried to send mail to her home.
Swift reiterated that she has “no relationship with Wagner,” nor has she ever met or communicated with him. The temporary restraining order is set to expire on 30 June 2025.
