Kevin Hart set the tone for the 2025 BET Awards with his opening monologue, delivering sharp jabs at prominent figures in the entertainment industry.
The comedian took aim at Diddy, Cardi B and Kanye West in a series of lighthearted yet pointed jokes that had the crowd at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles laughing.
Hart kicked off his monologue with a playful dig at Diddy, advising the audience to avoid after-parties where things might get “slippery.” He then joked about steering clear of yachts, boats, and “pink stuff,” referencing the ongoing drama surrounding Cardi B and her boyfriend, NFL star Stefon Diggs.
The comedian’s humour didn’t stop there. Hart took a moment to comment on the recent protests in Los Angeles, mentioning the involvement of Waymos, the driverless cars that were caught up in the protests near the BET Awards venue. Hart's joke added an unexpected political twist to his usual comedy style.
Next, Hart turned his attention to Kanye West, taking a jab at the rapper's involvement in the upcoming film Sinners with Michael B. Jordan. The comedian wasn’t afraid to target some of the biggest names in the industry, knowing his audience would appreciate the humour.
