Two animal traders and a driver lost their lives because of electrocution in two incidents involving trucks passing under hanging wires, rescue officials said.

The victims were riding on two trucks when they accidentally touched the low-hanging wires.

The first incident occurred near the 493/EB village, where five animal traders were returning home after selling livestock. Their vehicle struck high-voltage wires, resulting in the deaths on the spot of Abrar and Ghaffar, residents of KB/50.

In a separate incident in the same area, truck driver Mohsin Ali, a resident of 435/EB, was electrocuted after his vehicle came into contact with the hanging wires.

Following the incidents, local residents protested and demanded immediate removal of the dangling wires to prevent tragedies.

Rescue officials informed the police about the incidents and the bodies were handed over to the families after the completion of legal formalities.
