A female doctor from the Government TB Hospital Samli in Murree was allegedly sexually assaulted by a man in a private hotel near Sunny Bank on the night of May 20. The accused had been falsely presenting himself as a Special Advisor to the Punjab Chief Minister.
A case was registered at Murree Police Station, and the police swiftly arrested the accused, identified as Asad Khan.
According to reports, the suspect first went to Samli Hospital, where he verbally abused the security staff and forcibly took the lady doctor, introducing her as his wife, in a Mehran car. Two unidentified men were already present in the vehicle, who allegedly threatened the doctor with death.
Both the accused, Asad Khan, and the victim reportedly belong to the same village in Khanewal. The lady doctor stated that Asad had previously attempted to sexually assault her in Lahore after luring her there. He had also misled her with false promises of employment in various hospitals, claiming he could secure postings through his influence.
However, credible sources confirmed that the doctor was appointed to Murree's TB Sanatorium Hospital purely on merit. She had only been at her new post for two days before the incident occurred. The Murree police have initiated legal proceedings.
