Local govt to strengthen projects' monitoring

This was announced by Local Government Secretary Mian Shakeel Ahmed during a visit to Murree.

RAWALPINDI:

The Punjab Local Government has decided to further strengthen its monitoring system to ensure transparency, timely completion, and quality of development projects.

Monitoring will be conducted from the initiation to the completion of every project. Contractors will be required to adhere strictly to deadlines and quality standards.

This was announced by Local Government Secretary Mian Shakeel Ahmed during a visit to Murree.

He chaired a meeting to review various ongoing development projects and conducted site visits to inspect the progress.

During the session, the deputy commissioner of Murree provided a detailed briefing on the current status, funding, and expected completion dates of the projects, which include road repairs, improvement of tourist sites, sanitation systems, and urban facilities.

Senior administrative officials from district and tehsil levels, including the additional deputy commissioners, assistant commissioners of Murree and Kotli Sattian, and the chief officer of Murree Municipal Corporation, attended the meeting.

Later, Secretary Shakeel Ahmed visited sites such as Khani Taak and Kashmir Point to assess the pace and quality of ongoing work.

He instructed that all projects must be completed on time to ensure improved facilities for residents and tourists, praising the efforts of the Murree administration and reaffirmed the Punjab Government's commitment to the city's development.
