
The Sindh government has announced plans to establish a mini truck assembly line in Karachi in partnership with Chinese investors.
Sindh's Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon also announced that charging stations for electric vehicles will soon be established across Sindh.
Memon said that the initiatives would greatly benefit various business groups and individuals.
At the unveiling ceremony of the super mini truck in the Chinese city of Bozhou, Sindh's Senior Minister for Information, Transport, and Mass Transit, Sharjeel Inam Memon, along with Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, Budget Petroleum CEO Zahid Bashir, and Chery Holding Company Chairman Yin Tongyue, highlighted the importance of this collaboration.
Memon said the project, developed by Chery Holding and Pedi Technology Company Limited, is a major step in Pakistan-China industrial and technical cooperation. The Super Mini Truck is designed to address logistics challenges in urban and rural areas and offers a sustainable, and adaptable transport solution.
Memon asserted that the Mini Truck is a remarkable blend of modern engineering, intelligent design, and environmental adaptability, and is fully capable of meeting the growing demand for light commercial vehicles in Pakistan.
He pointed out that the assembly line for the Super Mini Truck would soon be established in Karachi, which would boost industrial development and promote local component manufacturing.
