Billy Ray recently posted a heartfelt message on Instagram, sharing a clip of Miley singing at the piano and writing, “Can’t wait to see this young lady,” adding, “Crazy how time flies.” This post, however, led to a noticeable shift in Miley's social media relationships, as her mother, Tish, was observed unfollowing her daughter on Instagram.

The timing of this incident has raised eyebrows due to the long-standing tensions within the Cyrus family, particularly since the couple’s 2022 divorce. The split had already strained Miley’s relationship with her father, which reportedly worsened over time. A source previously told E! News that Miley found it difficult to connect with Billy Ray after the divorce, though she hoped for a future reconciliation.

Tish has since remarried, tying the knot with actor Dominic Purcell in 2023, while Billy Ray married singer Firerose before separating less than a year later. Further family drama surfaced when Us Weekly reported in 2024 that Miley’s sister, Noah Cyrus, disapproved of their mother’s marriage to Purcell, though the siblings appear to have since reconciled.

Miley’s ongoing estrangement from her father was evident at the 2024 Grammy Awards when she excluded him from her acceptance speech for “Flowers.” Despite the apparent family discord, Billy Ray recently praised both his daughters, Miley and Noah, on Instagram, calling them “mind-blowing.”
