The Indian military launched a series of missile, air, and drone strikes on the night between May 6 and 7, hitting civilian infrastructure at six locations in Pakistan — including Sialkot, Shakargarh, Muridke, Bahawalpur, Kotli, and Muzaffarabad.
The Pakistan government said that the Indian strikes were based on “false pretexts” of terrorist camps, which had already been refuted through offers of international inspections and media visits.
Among the worst-hit areas was Bahawalpur’s Ahmedpur Sharqi, where 13 civilians — including two toddlers and seven women — lost their lives.
Strikes also damaged Bilal Mosque near Muzaffarabad and Abbas Mosque in Kotli, martyring teenagers and injuring children. Along the Line of Control (LoC), five more civilians, including a five-year-old child, were martyred by Indian firing.
