Singer-songwriter Taylor Swift did not attend the 2025 Met Gala, making it her ninth consecutive absence from the high-profile fashion event.
Despite fan speculation and media buzz suggesting a possible appearance, Swift and her partner, NFL player Travis Kelce, were not seen at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday night.
Swift’s last known public appearance was at Super Bowl LVIX in February, where Kelce’s team, the Kansas City Chiefs, lost to the Philadelphia Eagles. Since then, the couple has largely stayed out of the spotlight. According to sources close to the pair, Swift and Kelce have been “laying low” during the NFL off-season, spending time traveling and relaxing with friends.
“They are making the most of their time off together,” a source told People, noting that the couple has prioritized privacy in recent months. Entertainment Tonight also reported that they’ve been enjoying a quieter schedule.
Swift’s last Met Gala appearance dates back to 2016, when she served as a co-chair for the event. That year, she wore a silver Louis Vuitton mini dress and embraced the theme “Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology.” Prior to that, Swift regularly attended the event, with notable fashion moments in 2008, 2010, 2011, 2013, and 2014.
Although Swift remains one of the most-watched celebrities globally, her continued absence from the Met Gala underscores her current preference for keeping a lower public profile. Her fans, however, continue to revisit and celebrate her past red carpet fashion moments.
