Police have registered a case against a private school teacher for allegedly brutally beating and injuring two students in the Gujar Khan area on Sunday. The school administration was also nominated in the case.
According to the police, Saqib Mahmood, the victim's father, reported that his 11-year-old and six-year-old sons are students at a private school in Bewal.
The school had appointed Qari Nauman Asif to provide religious education to the pupils. However, he has allegedly been subjecting children to brutal physical abuse. Despite multiple complaints from local residents, neither the school administration took action, nor did Qari Nauman cease the abuse.
Saqib further complained that his elder son was first beaten, and a few days later, his younger son was assaulted with an iron rod. The children sustained visible injuries and are suffering from severe physical pain and mental trauma, he added.
A contradiction is noted between Punjab's official school slogan, "No Corporal Punishment — Only Love," and the reality in some private schools, where children are subjected to violent treatment instead of care and affection. Such abuse not only harms children physically but also leaves deep psychological scars, potentially leading to long-term mental health issues.
