Three CTD officials martyred in Bannu clash with terrorists

Three Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) personnel were martyred and five others wounded in two separate terrorists incidents in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) province late Wednesday night, officials confirmed.
In Bannu’s Domel area, gunmen attacked Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) personnel on Company Road, martyring three and injuring two officers, Express news reported.
Three civilians were also injured during the crossfire, said police officials.
The wounded and deceased were shifted to a nearby hospital, while additional police and armoured vehicles were deployed to the area in response.
Regional Police Officer Sajjad Khan and District Police Officer Saleem Abbas Kalachi visited the injured officers and expressed solidarity with the families of the deceased.
In a separate incident in Swabi, unidentified assailants opened fire on police checkpoint within Swabi police station limits. No casualties were reported.
District Police Officer Swabi Muhammad Azhar Khan said the attackers fled under the cover of darkness towards nearby forested areas after police returned fire.
A search and strike operation is ongoing in the area, and security has been tightened, he added.
