The famous tourist destination, Lake Saiful Malook, located in the scenic Kaghan Valley, has been reopened to tourists after a six-month closure. Associated with the romantic legend of Prince Saiful Malook and the fairy Badiul Jamal, the lake is a breath-taking masterpiece of natural beauty that attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors each year.
The road leading to the lake was closed in November last year due to heavy snowfall. It has now been cleared and restored for traffic, allowing tourists to once again enjoy the enchanting snow-covered views of the lake.
According to officials from the Kaghan Development Authority, the road to Lake Saiful Malook had been blocked at multiple points due to landslides and avalanches. Following the reopening of Naran, the road restoration work was carried out under the instructions of Tourism Advisor Zahid Chanzeb and Director General of the Kaghan Development Authority, Shabbir Khan, with the help of heavy machinery.
Now that access has been restored, tourists from across the country can witness the magical beauty of the snow-covered lake. While the rest of the country experiences a heatwave, Lake Saiful Malook offers a refreshing retreat with its cold climate and thick layers of snow.
The reopening is also expected to boost tourism and provide livelihood opportunities for hundreds of local jeep drivers.
