The Peshawar High Court has granted protective bail to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and Member of the National Assembly (MNA), Shahid Khattak, in connection with multiple cases registered against him. The case was heard by a two-member bench comprising Justice Waqar Ahmed and Justice Farah Jamshed.
During the hearing, Advocate Bashir Wazir, representing Shahid Khattak, informed the court that his client, an elected MNA from Karak, had previously been granted protective bail until May 6 in the cases known to him.
He further argued that although the federal government, in its submitted response, acknowledged the registration of two cases against Khattak, it had concealed information about two additional FIRs.
He pointed out that arrest warrants were also issued just a day prior in two separate cases filed in Islamabad.
The petitioner requested the court to direct the authorities to provide complete details of all cases registered against him, including those filed in Punjab.
The Federal Secretary Establishment was also made a party to the petition to ensure transparency regarding the pending cases.
