JoJo Siwa has broken her silence on her recent breakup with Kath Ebbs following her exit from Celebrity Big Brother UK, where she developed a close bond with castmate Chris Hughes.
The 21-year-old Dance Moms alum addressed the split during an April 28 appearance on ITV's This Morning, offering insight into what led to the end of her relationship with Kath.
Siwa explained that the breakup was not planned and took place unexpectedly. "That was not a plan," she said, clarifying that it wasn’t her intention to end things at the show’s wrap party. JoJo recalled that Kath initially declined to attend the wrap party but later changed their mind. What began as a conversation between the two eventually led to the breakup. Kath had asked JoJo if she was happy, to which JoJo admitted she wasn’t, and the conversation naturally progressed to the end of their relationship.
Reflecting on her time in the Big Brother house, JoJo shared how being isolated from the outside world allowed her to gain clarity about her life. "I was now in my own thoughts, away from everyone that I know," she explained. "I really realized things that I was okay with in my life that I should never have been okay with in the first place." While JoJo did not want to publicly air all her realizations, she noted that her relationship with Kath was among the things she reevaluated.
JoJo also expressed her desire to make necessary changes in her life, saying, "I knew as soon as I got out I wanted to fix things in my life and make the changes that I needed to make."
Regarding her close friendship with Chris Hughes, JoJo described their bond as strong and platonic. Chris echoed similar sentiments, calling their relationship a "soulmate friendship." While they confirmed there is no romantic involvement, JoJo expressed gratitude for their connection, saying, “Whatever life does, life will do.”
