Tension is rising among Celebrity Big Brother viewers as the relationship between JoJo Siwa and Chris Hughes continues to stir conversation. While the pair have developed a noticeable bond in the house, recent moments aired on the show have raised concerns, especially due to Hughes’ flirtatious behavior toward Siwa, who is openly in a same-sex relationship.

In one recent scene, Siwa, 21, casually asked Hughes, 32, if he wanted spaghetti. He replied playfully, referencing Lady and the Tramp. “No,” Siwa clarified, “but we can have some together.” Hughes then responded, “For you, absolutely anything,” calling her “darling.”

In addition to the flirty banter, Hughes’ physical gestures have drawn concern. As Siwa rested with her eyes closed, Hughes leaned in to apply lip balm with his finger, startling her. “It’s my finger, don’t worry,” he assured, then added, “Would I ever?” Siwa, with a smirk, replied, “Yeah,” to which Hughes admitted, “Probably would actually, yeah.”

Earlier in the season, Hughes joked about having children with Siwa, saying, “I have good swimmers,” and claiming their kids would “have great eyes.” He’s also referred to her as his “girlfriend.” These exchanges quickly drew backlash online, with many viewers criticizing them as inappropriate and dismissive of Siwa’s identity.

In a preview of the next episode, Hughes is seen tearfully defending himself in the diary room, saying, “I’m literally just in here being me.” His brother Ben Hughes, in an interview on Lorraine, described the duo as simply close friends.

Meanwhile, Siwa remains committed to Australian influencer Kath Ebbs. The couple went public in early 2025 and attended the GLAAD Awards together in March. Siwa described the relationship as “mature” and “beautiful.”
