Netflix is experiencing a major global outage, leaving millions of users frustrated and unable to access their favorite content.
The streaming giant confirmed the disruption began around 2 p.m. EST on April 24, with users reporting widespread login failures and the appearance of error code tvq-rnd-100.
According to DownDetector, the outage is impacting several major cities, including New York, Los Angeles, Boston, Chicago, and Dallas, with reports also coming in from the UK, Brazil, Dubai, and beyond. Netflix has acknowledged the issue, stating that while the platform isn’t fully down in every country, users in affected regions are encountering connection problems.
The tvq-rnd-100 error typically signals a device's inability to connect to Netflix servers, often due to network-related issues. Netflix’s help center recommends restarting devices or routers and re-logging into accounts as temporary solutions. However, for many users, these fixes aren’t working.
Frustrated fans took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to express their discontent, especially those in the middle of episodes or eager to stream new releases like the latest season of You. “I was watching and it just shut down,” one user wrote. Another added, “Netflix is down and I can’t finish my show? Fix it!”
Some users also shared odd glitches, like profile mix-ups and sudden shutdowns on multiple devices. Netflix customer service pages show increased wait times as the company works to resolve the outage.
As of now, Netflix has not shared an official timeline for when full service will be restored. Users are advised to stay tuned for updates from the streaming platform.
