Travis Hunter, this year’s Heisman Trophy recipient and standout two-way player for Colorado, is facing intense social media scrutiny surrounding his relationship with fiancée Leanna Lenee. The couple, engaged since February 2024 and planning a May 2025 wedding, has become the focus of online speculation, prompting both to delete their social media accounts.

Public attention heightened following several viral videos. One clip from Hunter’s final game at Colorado showed Lenee appearing uncomfortable during a post-game embrace. This wasn’t an isolated incident. At the Heisman ceremony, another viral clip showed head coach Deion Sanders prompting her to stand as Hunter was announced the winner — fueling further assumptions about tension in the relationship.

In response to the rising criticism, Hunter addressed the situation during a livestream, saying: “We’re inseparable… if she’s hurting, I’m hurting.” He added that Lenee was emotionally overwhelmed by the situation, calling the night “drunk OD amount.”

This fueled further online speculation, with users dissecting even past appearances, including a resurfaced music video in which Lenee danced suggestively with an artist. As rumors escalated, both Hunter and Lenee removed themselves from social platforms.
Former NFL wide receiver Dez Bryant commented publicly, urging Hunter to reconsider the relationship. Bryant later deleted his post after facing accusations of clout chasing.
Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders indirectly responded, defending Hunter and criticizing public figures for engaging online instead of reaching out privately. “Y’all just posting for the algorithm trying to look cool,” Sanders said via X (formerly Twitter).
While controversy brews off the field, Hunter is shifting focus toward the 2025 NFL Draft, where he remains a top prospect.
