Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif has decided to return to Pakistan from London on an urgent basis, party sources confirmed on Wednesday, Express News reported.

According to the sources, the former prime minister is expected to arrive in the country on Thursday, though no official statement has yet been issued by the party leadership.

The decision comes amid reports of crucial internal deliberations within the PML-N, as the party prepares for key political developments.

Party officials said Nawaz Sharif has summoned his brother, former Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, to the family residence in Jati Umra on April 25 for an emergency briefing on what sources described as an "important matter."

In addition to the meeting with Shehbaz Sharif, Nawaz is also expected to hold a series of high-level consultations with senior PML-N leaders over the weekend, spanning Friday through Sunday.

The nature of the discussions has not been disclosed, but insiders suggest they may relate to internal party strategy and national political planning.

Nawaz, who has been residing in London since 2019 for medical treatment, returned to Pakistan briefly in October 2023 after a prolonged self-imposed exile and has since been actively re-engaging with the party’s leadership and decision-making processes.
