The Christian community is celebrating Easter today with great religious zeal, devotion, and reverence.

To ensure safety, security personnel have been deployed at all churches across the country, where walk-through gates and CCTV cameras have been installed. Easter worship services are scheduled to be held between 9:00am and 12:00pm.

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif extended heartfelt greetings to the Christian community in Pakistan and around the world on the occasion of Easter, recognising their role in national development and calling for unity and harmony across faiths.

In his message, President Zardari said Easter is a time of hope, renewal, and celebration of life. “It reminds us of compassion, sacrifice, and forgiveness. The Christian community has always played a vital role in Pakistan’s development. We deeply acknowledge their contributions in education, healthcare, social welfare, and public service,” he said.

Zardari reiterated that the Constitution of Pakistan guarantees the rights of minorities and affirmed the government’s continued commitment to their uplift and empowerment.

“We are proud of their dedication to peace, harmony, and coexistence in society,” he added.

He expressed hope that Christians would remain active participants in shaping an inclusive and united Pakistan.
