Over 260 churches cleaned, washed for Easter

LWMC disbursed advance salaries and bonuses to more than 15,000 Christian workers on occasion

LAHORE:

The Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) has completed the cleaning and washing of 266 churches across the city before the start of the Easter festivities.

The company also disbursed advance salaries and bonuses to more than 15,000 Christian workers on the occasion.

Cleaning operations were also implemented in 79 residential areas of ten community, while sanitation teams were deployed at 66 prominent churches, including the Sacred Heart Cathedral, Anarkali Church, Don Bosco, Nolakha Church and Saint Anthony's Church.

According to a statement, zero-waste initiatives were implemented in key Christian neighbourhoods such as Youhanabad, Begum Kot, Christian Park, Wandala Road and Church Mohalla.

LWMC Chief Executive Officer Babar Sahib Din stated teams would remain active on the Easter holiday.
