
The family of a Pakistani man continues last-minute appeals over the death penalty given to him for his alleged involvement in drug trafficking in China.
Syed Zahid Hussain Shah’s relatives arrived in Shanghai yesterday to appeal to the government over the death sentence. Shah’s penalty is due to be carried out by lethal injection on September 21 – after he was found guilty by the Shanghai First Intermediate People’s Court.
Shah’s family,in contact with the Pakistan consulate and various human rights organisations,believe that he is innocent.
