Suspected SRA terrorist arrested

Furthermore, Bablu used to conduct reconnaissance of sensitive locations in Karachi

KARACHI:

The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) police conducted a raid in Sachal area on Wednesday arrested a suspected terrorist allegedly affiliated with the banned Sindhudesh Revolutionary Army (SRA). The police also recovered illegal weapons from his possession.

The terrorist identified as Sajjad Shar alias Bablu was reportedly a close associate of SRA commanders Asghar Ali Shah and Noor Ahmed Chandio.

According to the CTD spokesperson, Sajjad Shar had a history of involvement in serious crimes, having been previously arrested in cases related to murder, attempted murder, and possession of explosive materials.

Investigations revealed that Bablu used to receive instructions from SRA commanders and relay them to other operatives, including Ghulam Shabbir Mallah and Bashir Shar. He was also involved in recruiting young boys to join the SRA and attend party gatherings.

Furthermore, Bablu used to conduct reconnaissance of sensitive locations in Karachi and interior Sindh, providing vital information to his associates.

The CTD investigation exposed a sinister plot, revealing that the suspect was tasked by SRA commanders to plan an improvised explosive device (IED) blast on the railway track near Gaun Bohra in the district of Hyderabad. He was awaiting the delivery of the explosive device to execute the attack.
