The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) has announced plans to impose a Rs15,000 fine on individuals violating one-way traffic rules on the city’s main roads, in a move aimed at improving road safety and reducing traffic violations, Express News reported.
The enforcement will be carried out by city wardens, under the direction of Karachi Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab and the Karachi Task Force. The proposal is expected to be tabled in the upcoming council session for formal approval and implementation.
Wahab emphasised the need for firm action to improve traffic conditions and prevent accidents. "Strict measures are essential for better traffic management and accident prevention," he said.
He also urged citizens to adhere to traffic rules. "We appeal to the public to follow traffic laws and cooperate with authorities to ensure safer travel across the city," the mayor added.
