At least three people were killed and eight others injured in rain-related incidents following heavy downpours and thunderstorms in Rawalpindi and Jhelum districts, Express News reported.
In Jhelum’s Sohawa tehsil, two people lost their lives and four were injured when a boundary wall collapsed onto a loader vehicle in Mohalla Shaheedan. The injured were shifted to a hospital in Rawalpindi, where two remain in critical condition.
Two additional wall collapse incidents occurred in the nearby areas of Pindi and Sohala. In Dervaisa, a woman sustained serious injuries, while in Sohala, a child and a young man were reported critically injured after being struck by falling debris.
In Rawalpindi’s Ratta Amral area, a 24-year-old man identified as Musa died after a mosque wall collapsed, burying him under the rubble. He was a resident of Hazara Colony. The body was shifted to a local hospital for further procedures.
Local authorities have warned of continued weather volatility and urged residents to remain cautious, especially in storm-prone and structurally vulnerable areas.
