
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has directed the authorities concerned to launch a free market policy for wheat based on deregulation.
According to a statement, then chief minister approved a proposal that there would be no restrictions on the movement of wheat at inter-provincial borders.
She said, "With the permission to transport wheat from Punjab, farmers will be able to get full benefit of their crop."
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz also directed the authorities to buy wheat through the private sector this year. She said, "For the first time in Punjab, wheat will be purchased through the private sector."
Hospital referral
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has sought a comprehensive plan for the implementation of a referral system to reduce unnecessary load of patients on health centres, clinics and small hospitals by referring patients to the specialised hospitals.
She was chairing a meeting in which it was also decided that a state-of-the-art medical city would be established in Lahore.
The chief minister also paid a surprise visit to the Services Hospital.
