The City Traffic Police have announced a comprehensive traffic plan for the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL) matches scheduled to take place at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium from April 11 to 19.
According to the Traffic Police spokesperson, Murree Road will be closed during the arrival and departure of cricket teams, from Faizabad to Double Road Turn. Traffic coming from Islamabad will be diverted to the Expressway at Faizabad, while traffic heading from Rawalpindi to Islamabad will be rerouted via Chandni Chowk, Rehmanabad, and 6th Road toward Saidpur Road. Vehicles approaching from Ghausia Chowk will be diverted to Farooq Azam Road and Kuri Road.
To ensure smooth traffic flow and public convenience, over 365 traffic officers and wardens will be deployed across the city. Guidance banners for alternative routes and parking areas will be displayed, while real-time traffic updates will be shared via FM radio.
Stadium Road will remain closed in both directionsfrom 9th Avenue Chowk to Double Road Turn. Traffic from Islamabad entering Rawalpindi via 9th Avenue will be redirected through IJP Road, Pindora, and Pirwadhai, while traffic from Double Road heading to Islamabad will use Murree Road via Faizabad.
