ISLAMABAD:

A high-level committee met at the Ministry of Industries and Production to review the restructuring of the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA) on Tuesday as per a statement. Chaired by Minister for Climate Change Musadik Malik, the meeting was attended by SAPM Haroon Akhtar Khan and Minister for ITT Shaza Fatima Khawaja.

The committee assessed SMEDA's performance, challenges, and future direction. Malik stressed the PM's directive to boost value-added SME sectors and called for reduced public sector intervention by exploring an outsourcing model.

Khawaja and Khan endorsed this, highlighting the need for private sector leadership in SME growth and exports. The committee also discussed setting clear timelines and promoting youth and women entrepreneurship.
