A man attempting to mediate a minor altercation in Gulshir Town was shot dead, while the assailants managed to flee the scene.
Model Town Police have registered a case and launched an investigation.
According to details, Irshad Ahmed Rahmani, a resident of Gulshir Town, was at his home when a heated argument broke out between his neighbor, Danish Malik, and Muzzammil, a resident of Ahata Shahnawaz.
As the argument escalated, Muzzammil was joined by his accomplices - Lala Adnan and Sheroz, both from Ashraf Town, and Irshad Abbas from Akhtar Town.
Seeing the situation worsen, Irshad Rahmani stepped in to mediate and calm tensions. However, in the midst of the confrontation, Muzzammil opened fire, fatally shooting Rahmani.
His three armed accomplices also started firing indiscriminately, but fortunately, no other residents or bystanders were injured.
The case has been registered on the complaint of the deceased's widow. Model Town Police are conducting further investigations and working to apprehend the suspects.
