Abbott Elementary star Quinta Brunson has filed for divorce from Kevin Anik, citing irreconcilable differences after three years.

Quinta Brunson, the Emmy-winning creator and star of Abbott Elementary, has officially filed for divorce from her husband, Kevin Anik, after three and a half years of marriage. According to court documents filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court, Brunson cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split.

The actress, 35, is reportedly requesting that the court uphold their postnuptial agreement, ensuring the division of assets remains as agreed. Both Brunson and Anik are expected to cover their own legal fees. The couple has no children, so custody arrangements will not be a factor in the proceedings.

Brunson, who has played Janine Teagues on ABC’s Abbott Elementary since 2021, had sparked divorce speculation earlier this year when she attended the SAG Awards without her wedding ring. Dressed in a white lace Christian Dior gown, the absence of her ring led fans to question the status of her marriage.

Brunson and Anik became engaged in July 2020 and tied the knot in 2021. While she has largely kept her relationship private, she publicly praised her husband in her 2022 Emmys acceptance speech and again at the 2023 Golden Globes, where she expressed gratitude for his support.

As of now, Brunson has not commented on the divorce, and her representatives have not responded to media inquiries.
