Kanye West has released a new song, Lonely Roads Still Go to Sunshine, featuring his 11-year-old daughter, North West, and Sean "Diddy" Combs. The track, which debuted on March 15 via a post on X, comes amid ongoing legal and personal conflicts involving West and Combs.
The song features contributions from Combs—credited as Puff Daddy—his 26-year-old son, King, emerging musician Jasmine Williams, and North West, who delivers the line, “When you see me shining, then you see the light.” The track opens with what appears to be a recorded phone conversation between West and Combs, in which Combs expresses gratitude for West looking after his children.
According to TMZ, Kim Kardashian attempted to block the song’s release by trademarking North’s name. Leaked text messages reveal that West and Kardashian previously agreed to trademark all their children's names at birth. However, Kardashian claimed she had filed the paperwork to prevent North from being included in the song. West, in response, accused Kardashian of overstepping, warning, “Amend it or I'm going to war.”
Beyond the music release, West has recently defended Combs, who is currently in jail awaiting trial for federal sex crime charges. In a series of social media posts, West alleged that Combs was being made “an example of” and refused to apologize for past controversial statements.
With legal battles and personal conflicts escalating, West’s latest release adds another layer to his ongoing controversies—keeping both his music and private life in the public eye.
