Pakistan’s T20I squad commenced training at Hagley Oval on Friday ahead of their five-match series against New Zealand.
The players underwent rigorous net sessions and fielding drills under the guidance of the coaching staff. The series marks Pakistan’s first assignment since their disappointing ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 campaign, where they finished last in Group A without a single win.
Led by newly-appointed captain Salman Ali Agha, the squad arrived in New Zealand on Thursday and took a rest day before resuming preparations. Another training session was scheduled at the same venue on Saturday at 1 PM local time.
Salman, speaking to the media earlier, was confident of achieving success in the T20I series with the help of young players.
PCB has also posted clips on its official social media accounts, highlighting players' training session ahead of Sunday's opener.
The T20I series will begin on March 16, with the second and third matches set for March 18 and 21. The final two games will be played in Mount Maunganui and Wellington on March 23 and 26, respectively.
Pakistan’s squad features Salman Ali Agha (captain), Shadab Khan (vice-captain), Abdul Samad, Abrar Ahmed, Haris Rauf, Hasan Nawaz, Jahandad Khan, Khushdil Shah, Mohammad Abbas Afridi, Mohammad Ali, Mohammad Haris, Muhammad Irfan Khan, Omair Bin Yousaf, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Sufyan Moqim, and Usman Khan.
New Zealand, led by Michael Bracewell, will field a squad including Finn Allen, Mark Chapman, Jacob Duffy, Mitchell Hay, Matt Henry (games 4 & 5), Kyle Jamieson (games 1, 2 & 3), Daryl Mitchell, James Neesham, Tim Robinson, Ben Sears, Tim Seifert, and Ish Sodhi.
