PESHAWAR:

An adjournment motion has been submitted in the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, calling for a detailed discussion on the worsening law and order situation across the province, particularly in the southern districts.

The motion was submitted by Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians (PPPP) leader Ahmed Kundi, who stated that the security situation in K-P, especially in the southern districts, has deteriorated significantly, with incidents of terrorism increasing daily.

"In these attacks, both civilians and security personnel are being targeted," the motion highlights.

Referring to a recent tragic incident in Bannu, Kundi pointed out that innocent children, civilians, and security personnel were martyred. However, he criticized the government's response, stating that those in power have confined themselves to issuing condemnatory statements while failing to devise a solid strategy to counter terrorism. Due to government inattention, he warned, the menace of terrorism has engulfed the entire province, particularly the southern districts.

The deteriorating security situation has not only put the lives and property of citizens at risk but has also severely impacted business activities, educational institutions, and daily life.

The motion calls for an urgent session of the provincial assembly, urging that regular proceedings be adjourned to allow a detailed discussion under Rule 73 of the Constitution. The goal, it states, is to formulate concrete proposals and a comprehensive strategy for establishing lasting peace in the province.
