PESHAWAR:

The Afghan Taliban and the Pakistani security forces on Tuesday engaged in a heavy skirmish at Torkham border on the second consecutive day, leaving two Taliban soldiers dead and six injured.

People living near the border in both Afghanistan and Pakistan began vacating their homes due to firing from both sides. The authorities in Pakistan have also advised the people living near the border to take precautionary measures.

The Pakistani security forces and the Afghan Taliban fighters on Monday exchanged fire at the main Torkham border crossing, following their failed talks to reopen the crossing.
