Jeffrey Epstein files phase 1: Trump named multiple times in newly released documents

President Donald Trump's name appears multiple times in the flight logs of financier Jeffrey Epstein, according to documents released by the U.S. Department of Justice on Thursday, February 27.

The logs, which were reviewed by PEOPLE, show Trump listed a total of seven times. Notably, his name appears on a flight from October 11, 1993, on page 24 of the log. Additionally, Trump is mentioned on May 15, 1994, along with his then-wife Marla Maples, their daughter Tiffany Trump, and a nanny. These flights also list Epstein (JE) as a passenger, and one of the 1993 flights mentions "GM," possibly referring to Ghislaine Maxwell.

The release of these flight logs, which are part of an ongoing investigation into Epstein's alleged sex trafficking operations, followed statements from Attorney General Pam Bondi on Fox News. Bondi confirmed the Justice Department's intention to disclose detailed flight logs and names of individuals connected to Epstein. "What you're going to see... is a lot of flight logs, a lot of names, a lot of information," Bondi said, describing Epstein’s actions as "sick."

The documents also reveal that Bondi requested the FBI provide further files related to the investigation, which were reportedly withheld during the prior administration. In a letter to FBI Director Kash Patel, Bondi noted that she had only received about 200 pages of documents, primarily consisting of flight logs, Epstein’s contacts, and a list of victims’ names. She demanded the remaining documents be delivered promptly, highlighting concerns that important information had not been shared.

Epstein, who died in 2019 while awaiting trial for sex trafficking charges, had ties to numerous influential figures, including Trump, Bill Clinton, and Prince Andrew. However, neither Clinton nor Trump has been accused of any criminal activity related to Epstein. Trump previously described Epstein as a "terrific guy" before their falling out.
