Tyga is grieving the heartbreaking loss of his mother, Pasionaye Nicole Nguyen, who passed away on January 18 at the age of 53. The rapper, 35, shared the devastating news in a deeply personal Instagram tribute on February 21, expressing his sorrow and love.
"Can’t imagine life without you by my side," Tyga (real name Michael Ray Stevenson) wrote alongside a series of photos from his mother’s life. "You were the best and most supportive person in my life. You always made things better when I felt at my lowest and worst. I would trade anything just to be able to be with you again."
The “Taste” rapper, who shares 12-year-old son King Cairo with ex Blac Chyna, continued his emotional message:
"I LOVE YOU SO MUCH. I can’t wait for the day until we’re together again. I’ll see you soon and save me a spot right next to you in paradise."
Tyga also reflected on his pain and confusion, questioning why God takes the most meaningful people away:
"I’ve been trying to understand and process why God takes the most meaningful and most beautifulest people away from us," he shared. "But I know I’ll never get an answer that will fill the emptiness in my heart."
While the cause of death was not disclosed, one of the photos included in the post showed Tyga holding his mother’s hand, with a hospital wristband dated January 11, just a week before her passing.
In other throwback photos, the mother and son duo are seen smiling at the camera in various settings, including a church and marina.

Concluding his tribute, Tyga vowed to honor his mom’s memory:
"I love you forever, mom. And I’ll do my best to celebrate you with every moment that I have left."
