Following a call from the All Government Employees Grand Alliance (AGEGA) – which includes over 100 unions and associations from various government departments – government employees will hold a sit-in protest in front of the Parliament House in Islamabad on Thursday (today). The bodies are protesting against the lack of salary and allowance increases, privatisation of government schools, and reductions in pensions.

Leaders of the AGEGA have stated that government employees are facing financial difficulties, with no salary increases despite a 1,000pc raise for MNAs and ministers. They plan to demonstrate peacefully and march from the Blue Area to Parliament House.
