Actor Zachary Levi has publicly urged Elon Musk to spare Trump-supporting federal workers as the Musk-led Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) continues massive layoffs.

Speaking on Fox News’ Jesse Watters Primetime, Levi expressed concerns that “good people” are losing their jobs unnecessarily.

“There are good people, people who voted for Donald Trump, who are losing their jobs. And we got to make sure we don’t leave those folks behind,” the Shazam star said. Levi had initially supported Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for president before endorsing Trump after Kennedy dropped out of the 2024 race.

Musk’s sweeping cuts to federal agencies have drawn criticism for their rapid pace and perceived recklessness. Critics argue the restructuring is more about reducing government oversight of Musk’s business ventures, including Tesla and SpaceX, than actual efficiency.

Levi, while expressing gratitude for Trump’s presidency and Kennedy’s appointment as Secretary of Health and Human Services, acknowledged the challenges posed by DOGE. He likened the job cuts to a necessary yet painful medical procedure.

“You lose some good healthy tissue along with that. [Doctors] don’t want to do that, but it’s a part of extracting that darkness out of there,” Levi explained.

Musk, a vocal critic of government regulations, now holds significant power over federal agencies, raising concerns among watchdogs. Aviation and auto safety officials fear Musk’s influence could weaken critical oversight, including ongoing investigations into Tesla.

As Musk continues his overhaul of federal agencies, Levi’s plea highlights growing tensions within the conservative base over the broader impact of these cuts.
