Pakistan cricketer Mohammad Rizwan held a press conference ahead of the highly anticipated Champions Trophy, urging the entire nation to enjoy the tournament as the trophy returns to Pakistan after 29 years.
Reflecting on the team’s preparations, Rizwan emphasized that despite facing significant challenges over the years, the team had managed to overcome them and perform well.
Mohammad Rizwan addressed questions regarding pacer Haris Rauf's availability for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 opener. Rizwan confirmed that Rauf is in good form, noting that he is "steadily improving" and bowling with great rhythm.
However, when asked about Rauf's inclusion in the opening match, Rizwan refrained from giving a definitive answer.
He explained that the final decision would depend on match conditions, stating that the team had multiple options but would evaluate the situation closer to the match day.
“Currently, Haris is fit and bowling well, but we will make our final decision based on the conditions,” Rizwan said.
Regarding the team lineup, Rizwan assured that captain Babar Azam would continue to open, though the team would be flexible and consider bringing in new options depending on the conditions.
Rizwan also emphasised the added responsibility on the senior players and how they aim to minimise mistakes, preventing any advantage for the opposition.
Concluding his comments, Rizwan shared his pride as a captain, saying, “When the whole team works hard, and we win, it makes me proud.” He also reiterated the team’s collective passion and drive for victory.
