Ryan Reynolds' appearance at Saturday Night Live’s 50th anniversary special has sparked controversy, with political commentator Candace Owens accusing him of attending the event to “stalk” his ex-wife, Scarlett Johansson.
In a series of Instagram Story posts on February 16, Owens slammed Reynolds, alleging that the Deadpool star deliberately inserted himself into the event to overshadow Johansson, who was in attendance with her husband, SNL cast member Colin Jost. “There’s a piece of me that feels he only showed up to see/stalk Scarlett Johansson, the ‘one that got away’ from his narcissistic abuse,” Owens wrote.
She also speculated that Reynolds’ presence was a response to Jost’s recent joke about his and Blake Lively’s ongoing legal drama with Justin Baldoni on Celebrity Jeopardy! Owens suggested that Reynolds has a pattern of staying close to Johansson’s professional circle, referencing his friendship with Hugh Jackman and casting of Channing Tatum in past projects.
The controversy is further fueled by the ongoing drama surrounding It Ends With Us, in which Lively stars. Owens has accused Reynolds of interfering in the film’s production after reportedly seeing raw footage that upset him. She even went as far as suggesting that Reynolds should be deported to Canada for his alleged “moral crimes” against Baldoni.
The creepier part of Blake & Ryan attending SNL is that it’s the workplace of his EX WIFE & her current husband.

That’s wildly unhinged to highjack the night that your ex & her new man were supposed to be the center focus. pic.twitter.com/DVl7DPx8Vt
Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively had to make Scarlett Johanssons night about them.

Reynolds has not publicly addressed Owens’ claims, but the accusations have ignited a debate on social media, with fans divided over the heated allegations.
