A man was arrested after an 11-year-old girl was injured in firing during a wedding ceremony in Dijkot.
The victim was shifted to a hospital, while the police arrested the man involved in the firing and seized a weapon from him.
Police officials said Abdul Ghaffar had fired into the air during the wedding ceremony in the 261RB area of Dijkot.
A bullet hit 11-year-old Hafsa Sabir.
The police arrested the suspect, seized the weapon and registered a case.
Separately, Mamo Kanjan police arrested a woman on charges of firing into the air during a quarrel.
According to the police, Fauzia, the wife of a government employee, had a quarrel with her neighbours in Ghausia Colony, after which she fired into the air with her husband Arif's licensed pistol in the street.
The SHO and women personnel of Mamo Kanjan police took the suspect into custody and seized the pistol.
Meanwhile, eight men, including a police constable, who fired into the air and set off fireworks at a wedding ceremony were arrested.
The CPO suspended the constable and ordered an inquiry against him.
Haider and others had allegedly fired into the air and set off fireworks at the mehndi ceremony in Nishatabad.
In another incident, a driver tried to crush a traffic police sub-inspector under a vehicle on Canal Road and injured him. The victim, Hasnain Bajwa, to a hospital.
