PTI founder Imran Khan has decided to expel ten lawmakers who were absent on the day of the 26th Amendment vote, according to party insiders.
The only exception to the decision is Zain Qureshi, while all others have been ordered to be removed from the party.
Sources said that critical decisions were made within Adiala Jail, where Imran conveyed a clear message to the party's senior leadership, instructing them to initiate the expulsion of the absentee lawmakers.
He further directed that a formal notification be issued to finalise their removal. Stressing his stance, Imran stated that those who chose to disappear on such a crucial day had no place in the party.
The lawmakers who failed to appear on the day of the vote include Senator Zarqa Suharwardy, Senator Faisal Saleem, Zain Qureshi, Aslam Ghuman, Riyaz Fatyana, Miqdad Ali Khan, Aurangzeb Khichi, Zahoor Qureshi, Usman Ali and Mubarak Zaib.
While Zain Qureshi was also absent, he has been exempted from expulsion.
PTI had previously issued show-cause notices to several of these members, including Aslam Ghuman, Riyaz Fatyana, Zain Qureshi and Miqdad Ali Khan, for failing to participate in the voting process.
Aurangzeb Khichi had also received a notice, while Zahoor Qureshi, Usman Ali and Mubarak Zaib were reported to be entirely out of contact with the party on that day.
