JCP to review LHC additional judges' appointments

ISLAMABAD:

Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Yahya Afridi has summoned a meeting of the Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP) on February 28 to deliberate on the appointment of four additional judges to the Lahore High Court (LHC).

The session will be held at 2 pm in the conference room under the CJP's chairmanship.

The commission will assess the credentials of eight district and sessions judges, out of whom four will be selected for the LHC.

The candidates under consideration include District and Sessions Judge Raja Ghaffar Ali Khan, District and Sessions Judge Qaiser Nazir Butt and District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Akmal Khan.

Additionally, the commission will deliberate on the names of District and Sessions Judge Tanveer Ahmed Sheikh, District and Sessions Judge Jazeela Aslam and District and Sessions Judge Tariq Mehmood Bajwa.

Further discussions will also take place regarding District and Sessions Judge Shahida Saeed and District and Sessions Judge Abher Gul Khan.
