The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has sought a report on the violations of CDA by-laws and the actions taken against those responsible, while also summoning the Director General of Sanitation.
In a written order issued during the hearing of a citizen's petition, Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri stated that the petitioner has been residing in a house in Sector F-6/3 for the past 30 years and is facing difficulties due to CDA's negligence.
According to the petitioner's counsel, during the rainy season, the drain fills up and forms a pond, causing water to enter the house. The petitioner had requested CDA to open the 300-foot-long illegally covered water channel next to the house, but no action was taken by CDA.
The order mentioned that CDA submitted a response claiming that the drain is not blocked and is fully cleared.
