Teddi Mellencamp has revealed that she is undergoing emergency surgery on Wednesday after doctors discovered “multiple tumors” on her brain.
“For the last several weeks I’ve been dealing with severe and debilitating headaches,” she announced in a statement shared via Instagram.
She explained that the pain became unbearable the previous day, requiring hospitalization. Following a CT scan and MRI, doctors identified multiple tumors on her brain, which they believe have been developing for at least six months.
The 43-year-old Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum stated that two of the tumors will be “surgically removed” on Wednesday.
“The remaining smaller tumors will be dealt with via radiation at a later date,” she added.
Mellencamp shared her gratitude for the support she has received from her loved ones and medical team, saying she feels “blessed” to have her “children, family, friends, doctors, nurses and surgeons who are doing everything possible to get me back into better health.”
“Thank you to everybody who has reached out, and to everyone who has supported me along this journey❤️,” she concluded.
Later, she posted a video on her Instagram Stories showing a friend shaving her head with an electric razor before the surgery.
“My best look,” she sang, appearing to stay positive.
Before sharing the news, Mellencamp posted a selfie from her hospital bed with sensors attached to her forehead and the sides of her head.
“Counting down the minutes until my babies get here,” she captioned the image. “As my dad said this am, god only gives hard stuff to those of us who can handle it. It’s a hard day but I have faith and amazing surgeons and know everything will be OK.”
Her post received thousands of supportive messages from fans and fellow Bravolebrities wishing her a smooth recovery.
“Praying for your health my friend 💕,” wrote Real Housewives of Orange County star Emily Simpson.
“Sending you so many prayers and all the love!!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻,” commented Vanderpump Rules alum Scheana Shay, while co-star Lala Kent added, “You’re in our prayers. May God bless you 🤍.”
Kenya Moore from Real Housewives of Atlanta also sent her support, writing, “Praying for you 🙏🏾.”
