The iconic Bollywood comedy Andaz Apna Apna, starring Salman Khan and Aamir Khan, is all set to return to theatres in April 2025.
The film, originally released in 1994, has gained a massive cult following over the years despite its modest performance at the box office.
The news was confirmed by Priti Sinha, daughter of the film's producer Vinay Sinha. She revealed that the film will be presented in a fully restored and remastered version, featuring enhanced 4K visuals and Dolby 5.1 sound. This re-release marks a tribute to Vinay Sinha, who faced numerous challenges while making the film.
“It’s our tribute to our father who stood against all odds to make this film. We are extremely proud of this legacy,” said Priti Sinha in an interview with The Times of India. Fans of the film can expect to watch the classic comedy on the big screen once again, with a teaser to be released on February 14, 2025.
Director Rajkumar Santoshi, who helmed the film, shared his excitement as well. “Andaz Apna Apna is very close to my heart, and I am thrilled to see it re-released this April,” he said.
The film, known for its slapstick humour and memorable characters such as Crime Master Gogo (played by Shakti Kapoor) and Teja (Paresh Rawal), was not a major success at the time of release. However, over the years, it has transformed into one of Bollywood’s most beloved comedies, with fans quoting lines and referencing scenes long after its initial run.
Andaz Apna Apna, which features a series of humorous misadventures as the two leads vie for the hand of a wealthy woman, remains a staple in Bollywood comedy, influencing films in the genre even today.
Andaz Apna Apna will be re-released across India in cinemas. Fans eagerly await the chance to experience this iconic film in a new, high-quality format.
Before this, another Salman Khan film, Karan Arjun, was re-released in cinemas in 2024.
