Boston University defeats Boston College 4-1 to win Beanpot 2025

Boston University tops Boston College 4-1 to win its 32nd Beanpot title, extending BC's tournament drought to 9 years.

The No. 9 Boston University Terriers defeated the No. 1 Boston College Eagles 4-1 in the 2025 Beanpot Championship on Monday night at TD Garden in Boston.

The victory secured BU’s 32nd Beanpot title, the most by any team in the tournament’s history, while BC’s championship drought in the competition extended to nine years.

Boston College struck first in the opening period, with forward Gabe Perreault scoring at the 6:13 mark.

Perreault’s goal was assisted by first-line teammates Andre Gasseau and Ryan Leonard, giving the Eagles an early lead. BC maintained its 1-0 advantage heading into the first intermission.

Boston University responded in the second period, netting two goals in a span of one minute and ten seconds.

Forward Brandon Svoboda tied the game at 5:43, assisted by Nick Roukounakis. Shortly after, defenseman Cole Hutson put BU ahead at 6:53, with assists from Kamil Bednarik and Tom Willander.

The Terriers extended their lead in the third period. Forward Cole Eiserman scored an unassisted goal at 13:52 to make it 3-1.

BC pulled its goalie in the final minutes, but BU sealed the win with an empty-net goal by defenseman Gavin McCarthy at 18:18.

Boston College goalie Jacob Fowler finished with 40 saves while allowing three goals. On the other end, BU's Mikhail Yegorov recorded 43 saves while conceding just one goal.

The loss snapped Boston College’s nine-game winning streak, which dated back to Jan. 11.

Next, the Eagles will face No. 16 UMass in a home-and-home series on Friday and Saturday, with both games set for 7 p.m. ET on ESPN+.
