Singer Charlie Puth has publicly urged Kanye West to stop selling T-shirts featuring the Swastika symbol, calling the act "incredibly dangerous." West, who now goes by Ye, faced backlash after listing the controversial apparel for sale on his website for $20.
Puth addressed the issue in an Instagram story, directly appealing to West. "The message you are sending out to the world is incredibly dangerous. Please, man, I beg you to stop. You are selling a T-shirt with a Swastika on it, and MILLIONS of people are influenced by you. Please, I BEG you to stop, PLEASE," he wrote.
The move sparked widespread condemnation, with many criticizing West for spreading harmful ideology. This controversy follows his history of inflammatory remarks, including past anti-Semitic statements that led to his suspension from X, formerly Twitter. Before his account was deactivated, West thanked platform owner Elon Musk for allowing him to "vent," calling it a "cathartic" experience.
In addition to the backlash over the Swastika T-shirts, West has also been at the center of another controversy involving pop star Taylor Swift. During the Super Bowl, Swift, who was supporting her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs' player Travis Kelce, was booed by Philadelphia Eagles fans whenever she appeared on the big screen. West later ranted about Swift online, reigniting tensions between the two.
West has also drawn criticism for calling himself a "Nazi" and advocating for the release of music mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs, who is currently facing sex trafficking charges.
The backlash highlights growing concerns over West’s influence and the spread of harmful rhetoric. Critics warn that his actions could have serious real-world consequences, given his massive following.
