Rapper Kanye West, also known as Ye, announced he was traveling to Atlanta to help fellow rapper Kodak Black after a video of Black surfaced on social media. The clip, originally posted on X by user @scubaryan_ on February 9, showed Black sitting in the middle of the street, allegedly eating chicken from a takeout container while cars passed by. Two unidentified men were seen filming him. The video quickly gained traction, amassing over 5 million views.

West, who has been vocal on X recently, responded to the video, writing, "I’M COMING TO MIAMI RIGHT NOW IM GOING TO GO GET MY BROTHER NOW LETS PRAY FOR HIM." He later posted a video explaining his concern, noting that Black was wearing a “DONDA” chain in the clip, referencing West’s album named after his late mother.
West first announced he was flying to Miami but later updated fans, clarifying that Black was actually in Atlanta. He then posted another video, stating, "So I’m going to fly down to Atlanta right now and do something." West urged people in Atlanta who knew Black to step in and help, emphasizing that he wanted to make a difference in his life.
West and Black have previously collaborated on multiple tracks, including Field Trip from Vultures 2 with Don Toliver and Playboi Carti, as well as Drunk featuring Peso Pluma.
West’s recent string of posts on X, covering topics from Diddy’s legal troubles to controversial historical figures, has raised concerns among fans. However, he reassured followers that he was in a good mental space, describing his social media activity as "cathartic" and "freeing."
At the time of writing, West’s X account was reportedly deactivated, and he announced plans to move discussions to a Discord channel on his website. Despite this shift, his focus remains on reaching out to Kodak Black and offering support.
