Adam Brody took home his first-ever Critics Choice Award on Friday night, winning Best Actor in a Comedy Series for his role in Netflix’s hit rom-com Nobody Wants This. The win marked a significant comeback for Brody, who beat out industry veterans Steve Martin and Martin Short (Only Murders in the Building).
As he took the stage, Brody delivered an emotional acceptance speech, thanking the Critics Choice Association, Netflix, and the show’s cast and crew. He gave special recognition to Nobody Wants This creator Erin Foster and co-star Kristen Bell, joking that his trophy was a "Hanukkah present" for her.
The most touching moment came when Brody turned his attention to his wife, Leighton Meester. Fighting back tears, he said, “My darling, darling wife. Thank you. Thank you for sharing this life with me and this journey with me. Thank you for our family. Love you with all my heart.” Meester, visibly emotional, smiled proudly from the audience.

The win was especially meaningful for the couple, as it came just weeks after their Pacific Palisades home was destroyed in the LA wildfires. Fans were quick to react on social media, expressing their love for Brody’s heartfelt tribute and celebrating his long-overdue recognition.
